Thomas Williams is a historian of warfare, identity, and power across the landscapes of medieval northern Europe. His work engages with ritualized geography, conflict, and the exercise of authority. His books Lost Realms (2022), Viking London (2019) and Viking Britain (2017) are published by William Collins. A former British Museum curator, Thomas has lectured at UCL and the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and former Trustee of the Society of Antiquaries of London. He has delivered lectures and briefings to global firms including Morgan Stanley, Citi, and BP, and to government institutions, including HM Treasury and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
