Thomas Williams is a historian of warfare, belief and power across the landscapes of medieval northern Europe. His work engages with ritualized geography, identity and the exercise of authority. His books Lost Realms (2022), Viking London (2019) and Viking Britain (2017) are published by William Collins. A former curator British Museum curator, Thomas has lectured at UCL and the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow and former Trustee of the Society of Antiquaries of London. He has delivered lectures and briefings to global firms including Morgan Stanley, Citi, and BP, and to government institutions including HM Treasury and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
